Summary0000175: Downsampling box misbehaves with reasonable parameter combinations
DescriptionThe downsampling box produces all sorts of complaints with perfectly reasonable combinations of parameters.
Steps To ReproduceFor example, try downsampling from 1000hz to 200hz with a chunk size of 32. Here 32 is not divisible by (1000/200)=5, possibly causing the issues. Also other combinations cause problems. The box appears to work (better?) if the chunk size is an integer multiple of the downsampling ratio.
Additional InformationI'm also curious if the box produces meaningful output in such (and other) combinations. Tests for the component would be useful, meanwhile it may be better to avoid this box unless you test that it does what you want. Otherwise, using temporal filter and signal decimation may be a better choice, although it will limit the possible ways to downsample.

Currently the box can also produce alternating chunk sizes. It is unclear whether other boxes understand this.

In OpenViBE 2.x+ we have a box called Resampling that can be used for downsampling purposes. The Downsampling box is considered as deprecated and wont be fixed. If any issues turn up with Resampling, please report.
