Brainproducts VAmp - issues with reference channels

Post by StefanE »

Dear all,

I am desparately trying to record reasonable EEG signals using the following components:

- Brainproducts VAmp (with recently launched dry electrodes - actiCap Xpress)
http://pressrelease.brainproducts.com/b ... de-system/

- Openvibe Acquisition Server with LSL (OVAS), downloaded here:
https://code.google.com/p/labstreaminglayer/wiki/OVAS

- Recording was carried out with the LabRecorder connected to OVAS via Labstreaminglayer, downloaded here:
https://code.google.com/p/labstreaminglayer/

First of all I applied offline bandfiltering (1-35 Hz) which needs to be done as the dry-electrode signals are heavily contaminated with 50Hz hum. However, after filtering I cannot even resolve / observe eye-blinks in the data, not to speak about any visible increase of alpha-activity when closing eyes temporarily. The problem is absent when using the Brainproducts recording software, hence the issue must come from the open-vibe software or the labstreaminglayer. From previous posts I've seen in this forum I assume the issue is grounded in a driver problem causing a fail in referencing. When I apply offline re-referencing I can at least observe some weak traces of eye-blinks, but alpha-activity remains invisible.

Has anyone had this problem before / solved the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,
Stefan
