EEG recording for SSVEP

Post by amin.mahnam »

Hi
I have been working with a 2 channels EEG system (with differential recording). Now, I want to use SSVEP experiment scenarios by using these 2 signals that I am able to record with my system.
But It seems that for using SSVEP scenarios, It needs to have 6 recording signals." Good results were measured with electrodes Oz, O1, O2, CPz, POz and Iz". due to this link:
http://openvibe.inria.fr/steady-state-v ... otentials/

So I want to know is it possible to use 2 signals for using SSVEP scenarios??
By the way, I want to remind you that my EEG recording are differential.

Thank you for any help you could provide.

Hi,

you need to change the OV signal processing in the scenarios to reflect the channels you have. The main thing is to find out if SSVEP frequencies are clearly present in your signal when the electrodes are placed appropriately at the back of the head. Perhaps you can use FFT, Simple DSP, signal display to investigate your signal characteristics. If the visually attended flickers are clearly present in the signal and their magnitudes reflect the focus of the user, then of course you can try to build control on top of that.

Imo the best way to find out if it works is to try to hack at it and look at the data you obtain.

My 3 cents,
Jussi
