P300 Speller and OpenEEG

Post by dfeist »

Hi,

we built an OpenEEG (ModularEEG) device last year, and would like to try to get some BCI to work. A P300 speller seems to be the most promising. Does anyone have experience how difficult it is to get it to work with a self-built EEG device?

We are thinking of trying the xDAWN P300 speller. Can someone tell us how many electrodes it is intended for? How many would you need (minimum?)

Hi dfeist and welcome on board !

The P300 speller setup usually requires around 10-12 electrodes when using the "regular" openvibe P300 speller pipeline. xDAWN significantly improves the P300 detection but requires more electrode to be effective.
Typically, we use 16 electrodes to achieve good performances with the xDAWN speller.

hope this helps
