Beginner with Neurosky

Post by jamesLocal »

This is about neurosky, i am hoping to purchase a mindset from neurosky, but before that i need to clarify a few doubts, since Openvibe supports neurosky;

1.) Can i distinguishably identify up down right left signals with neurosky, since it uses only one electrode ?

Some might say this question is not relevant to be posted in the openvibe forum, yet if anyone know please let me know.

Hi JamesLocal,

We are currently trying to figure out what we can do with the Neurosky Mindset.
However, it already seems impossible to achieve hands movement recognition, because

1. One electrode is not enough for the most common (and accurate) algorithms, and it is surely not enough for detecting both right and left movements
2. The MindSet electrode is placed on the forhead, far from the motor cortices

This device is really cheap, and you cannot compare it to the classical medical EEG.
We will try other paradigms with the MindSet, to see if it can be used for our BCI purpose.
