which acquisition device is best for research in drowsiness?

Post by hatma »

Dear all..

I own a Neurosky mindwave mobile.
My boss asked me to buy a new EEG acquisition device for our research (drowsiness during car driving).
He said Neurosky mindwave mobile is not enough (because only have 1 electrode)

so, what is the best choice for me?

PS: we cannot afford expensive stuffs :(

thanks

Hi Hatma, this is a tricky question. The topic comes up every now and then. The general answer is here,

http://openvibe.inria.fr/faq/#Which+EEG ... uld+I+buy?

though there might be specific requirements for drowsiness research. Perhaps you could look at some papers written on the subject and see what they have used? Hazarding a guess, the main difference probably is that going from medical hardware to consumer electronics makes the task more challenging.

Cheers,
Jussi
