Neurosky EEG frequency bands, a tiny question!

Post by amirjalili »

Hey,
We knwo that for example alpha frequency is 8-11Hz or theta is 5-8Hz. So why when I use Neurosky Thinkgear to get alpha values , it returns some huge values like "257534"? What is this number? How it can be converted to a value between 8-11 HZ?

This is generally known as extracting a band power feature. See for example the tutorial scenario bci-examples/neurofeedback/neurofeedback.xml to see how to extract and show a beta band (16-24hz). You'll need to customize that for neuroskys electrode count etc.

Happy hacking,
Jussi
