Emotive gyro data

Post by karthiks »

Hey,

I have used the Emotiv Epoc headset with OpenViBE and find that there are 14 signals corresponding to the electrodes.

Is there some way we can get the data about the gyro signals too? Also, if possible, the data sent from the rubber sensors?

Thank you.
Regards,

Karthik

Hi karthiks,

Indeed the Emotiv EPOC has only 14 EEG channels. The 2 others are for References, as stated in the emotiv website :
The Emotiv Software Development Kit for research includes a 14 channel (plus CMS/DRL references, P3/P4 locations)
For the Gyro, I just did't get these values from the headset :)
I patched the driver so it has now 2 optional channels: Gyro-X and Gyro-Y.
To enable the gyro channels, check the corresponding box in the driver properties.

Of course you need to update your SVN repository and build the acquisition-server again to see the change.

Tell me if it works fine for you !

Cheers

I assume you are referring at what they call the "comfort pads" ?
When roaming the emotiv forum, I found this thread.
Note that the sensor location behind the ears is fitted with a soft rubber comfort pad. This should remain in place unless the normal Reference sensors do not contact properly
I don't think we can get two more channels out of these two. It is not built that way...
Beside, in the Emotiv SDK I can access only 14 channels.
