OpenVibe stop giving signal / timeout for OpenBCI hardware

Post by ihgumilar »

Hi,

I am trying to run two openBCI headsets by using OpenVIbe software. In the middle of the experiment, one of them stopped giving a signal. It Just shows a flat signal. It seems that the system is going to timeout after I run the openVibe software for around 15 minutes. Do you have any solutions? or does anyone have the same issue?

I used the latest openVibe software, 3.00

Thanks
Ihshan

Hi,
If I understand weel, Your hardware shutdown (or other problem) the acquisition server is not perturbated by that and show a flat signal.
The scenario doesn't recognize a timeout. For me it's normal you have a signal (wrong but present).
If it is exceptional, I would take the part of letting the experimenter stop the scenario. If it is recurrent, I would set up a python script which detects a flat signal and sends a stimulation which will be read by a player controller to stop the scenario.
It would be interesting on our side (dev) that we manage this case. Even if we cannot just say cut everything in the event of a flat signal.
