Re: Emotiv Hardware
Hi All I haven’t checked out this forum for a few months now and sadly, I haven’t had much time to devote to my interest in bio-engineering in general, and specifically in EEG technology. I just read the comments from Beginner, regarding that paper on Emotiv. Apparently I have “casual opinions”. Per...

Re: Emotiv Hardware
Hi All I have been asked (back-channel) about possibilities of modifying Emotiv by “detaching” some of the electrodes so that these may be applied to the mid-centre or other positions not reachable by the EPOC spider legs. Rather than replying back-channel, I will do so here for the benefit of other...

Re: recommendations for research material by electrode locat
Hi Steve One thing that professionals will always tell you is NOT to mix EEG electrode types. For instance, don't mix Ag/AgCl with solid silver or gold electrodes, etc. The reason is that this would create large DC offset potentials which your EEG amplifier would have problems in dealing with. Ideal...

SPEARS Algorithm and the iBrain
Hi All Within the last few days a number of articles popped up in the media about a certain Dr. Philip Low that created the SPEARS algorithm. It is claimed that this algorithm allows a single channel of EEG data to be rapidly quantified, analyzed and classified. The article goes on to mention that t...

Re: data file modeeg p3 version
Alex
The openEEG modularEEG as well as the Olimex SMT-EEG use the P2 protocol.
The P3 protocol is not backward compatible and has never really been used because it isn't supported by BioExplorer.

Re: EEG hardware possibilities for research
James, If you want to do neurofeedback, BioExplorer is the software of choice. It’s a no-brainer – excuse the pun. BioExplorer has practically no technical support from Larry Janow, the creator of BE. Larry has recently released a new version, something that was long overdue. You are unlikely to get...

Re: Emotiv Hardware
Hello all Perhaps I can comment some more on the Emotiv hardware. There is no doubt in my mind that the EPOC can read EEG signals, but it is the amplitude accuracy that is questionable. I would have preferred a sampling rate of 256SPS, rather than their 128SPS, but this lower rate is certainly adequ...

Re: EEG hardware possibilities for research
Hi markandeya Sorry for my reply being a few months late… I have only recently joined this forum, but as this is of interest to many people here, it's worth making a quick list. So here goes, a list of EEG amplifiers with some of my comments. Starting from rock bottom (price-wise): 1. 100 Euros - Ol...

Emotiv Hardware
Hello all This is my first post to this forum... I have a question regarding the Emotiv headset. I am aware that an openvibe driver has been available for more than a year now but after looking through your posts, I could not find anybody that has reported good or bad experiences. My interest is in ...
